Thanks to all the fast runners who pushed me to run the best I could in the past year’s Grand Prix series. With your help, I finished second in the 65 to 69-year-old age group. And there were more than two in that age group.
2023 was the 30th edition of the Grand Prix. The 12 races in the series were the 305th to 316th series races. I finished all 12 races, and my current race finish streak is 46.
Over the 30 years, I’ve completed 204 races totaling 1073.0593 miles in 152 hours, 22 minutes, and 29 seconds. That’s an 8:31 minute per mile pace,
Until 2021, I had never placed in the top three of my age group in any series race. I had one top-three age group race finish this year.
Fortunately, I’ve been in the top 3 of my age group for the past four Grand Prix. Age and perseverance do pay off. Keep running.
My awards included a blanket and backpack.
