Psyllium Husks and Sugars

Sharing is caring!

I’m trying to reduce my daily sugars intake to less than 150 grams. My dietician wants me at 65 grams. For me, 100 grams would be great. Under 150 grams would be good.

Last spring, as part of my digestive issue resolution, my GP told me to drink 8 ounces of Meta Mucil twice a day. That gave me an extra 12 grams of fiber per day. My daily fiber ranges from 40 to 45 grams per day, higher than average (31 grams) for a male my age.

Meta Mucil comes in 3 forms, real sugar, aspartame, and stevia.  The sugar option has 32 grams of sugars.

Artificial sweeteners and too much sugar give me digestive issues.

I’m trying to figure out how to consume Psyllium Husks that equate to 12 grams of fiber with no more than 8 grams of sugars. Any recipes?
