Second Vaccine Shot

Sharing is caring!

Yesterday, I got my second COVID vaccine shot. It was 21 days since the first dose. I received the Pfizer vaccine. 14 days from now, I’ll be considered fully vaccinated.

To my knowledge, there have been no reported hospitalizations or deaths from COVID  of vaccinated people. I can still be infected and potentially transmit that infection. If infected, I should be able to treat at home without worry of severe symptoms.

At work, I’ll still wear my mask. It’s company policy and I prefer not to get sick. I’m thinking of buying a mask that says “I’m vaccinated” on it. I’m sure somebody is already marketing those.

Today, I had to record an unintended 0 mileage day. The shots have side effects,  normally, pain in the shoulder and a headache. I had shoulder pain from the first dose. With the second dose, the pain has caused stiffness in my back, neck and left arm.

This morning, I tried to get out and run. I was planning to do 4 miles. Before going out the door, I planned to take a one minute walk break every eight minutes.

We’re having some odd spring weather, sunny with a temp of 30 and 20mph winds. The wind chill was in the low 20s.  I walked to the end of the street with the wind blowing in my face. Already, my back was starting to twitch and it did not calm down when I started to run. About 100 meters later, I decided it was not worth trying to run and walking, with the wind, was not much better.

I came home and stretched my back.

Tomorrow will be a better day.
