Sometime in the summer of 2021, Google will shut down the Feedburner site. This site has been the procedure that slowoldrunner.com was using to send emails when I post a new article. As a replacement, I recommend using follow.it to replace that functionality.
Here is how to set up and use follow.it. Once you have set up, follow.it, you will not need to do anything to receive the notifications. You can use follow.it to get news from other blogs sent to your email, too. If you already have a follow.it account, you can sign in and go to the screen that allows you to add a new website. That is my sixth screen down on this page.

Pick the Sign Up button in the upper right corner
Type in your email and the password you want to use.
Press the Sign Up Button
Check the I’m not a robot box and fill in the information on any screen that pops up to ensure you are an actual person.
Press the Confirm Button
After receiving this screen, you need to go to your email software to confirm your request for a new account.
In your email software, please find the email from follow.it. It may be in your spam folder.
Notice the account name that follow.it created for you. It assigned me webmaster372 as I was the 372nd person to add an account with “webmaster” before the @ sign in my email address. When logging in later to follow.it, you will either use the username or email address.
In this email, press the Click here to confirm button
Use this main screen to set up a feed once you are in follow.it
Under the 1. Pick your news source(s) heading, pick the Enter Website option
Enter slowoldrunner.com in the box.
Press the Go button
If you want, you can add filters only to reduce notifications to only a specific type of post.
Press the Next button
Pick the type – to receive an email each time I do a posting, pick the “Single Emails” option. This choice is the best option for my site as I will do three of four posts per week.
Press the Follow it! button
You will be back on the main Follow the News screen. If you want to query or change any of your existing feeds, click on “My news” on the upper menu.
From the “All News” screen, pick the Feeds option on the left menu bar.
This screen lists all of your feeds to make any changes.
When we do a posting, you will get emails from follow.it. Press the “more” phrase within the body of the email to pull up the full posting.
Anytime you want to log into your account, from https://follow.it, press the “Log In” option in the upper right.
On the login screen, enter your email address or username and password, then press the Log In button.
