Recently, I had a birthday. My youngest daughter called me from Utah to express her best wishes.
On the call, she told me about taking a written test to get her Utah Driver’s License. They have peculiar state laws that they want to ensure drivers know.
I realized that, in my 50 years of driving, I’ve only had a Virginia Driver’s License. In 1972, I got my license the first day DMV was open after my birthday.
So, I went digging through my old boxes and found the original.
I had more hair at the time.
The actual 1972 licenses were paper inside a plastic bifold.
